The Dolcetto Series of tuners are the latest orchestral instrument models in Korg's AW series of clip-on tuners, which can be clipped directly to the bell or other part of an instrument for convenient tuning. The lineup now includes three new models: the Dolcetto (AW-3M), which features all-around support for large or small orchestral instruments, the Dolcetto-T (AW-3T), which is optimized for attachment to a trumpet or trombone and the Dolcetto-V (AW-3V), with a special clip and dedicated mode for violin and viola. Choose the model that's suitable for your instrument.
The Dolcetto series is based on the high accuracy and sensitivity that you expect from Korg tuners, which have a long history of more than 35 years. Dolcetto series tuners feature a new type of display that is designed for excellent visibility. There's also a metronome function that you can use for rhythm training. The Dolcetto is a clip-type tuner/metronome that will be a constant companion to support your performance.
• Clip-on tuner/metronome that attaches directly to your instrument • Dolcetto features all-around support for large or small orchestral instruments, including a transposition function • Dolcetto-T is optimized for use with the trumpet and trombone • Dolcetto-V is equipped with a special clip and a dedicated mode for violin/viola • Metronome function • The high precision and sensitivity that you expect from Korg • New type of display providing superb visibility that’s both bright and readable from any angle • High durability that stands up to impact and aging • Easy-to-understand operation, with buttons placed on the front • Calibration function that supports all concert pitches • The Auto Power-off function saves the battery even if you forget to turn off the unit • Memory backup function
The Dolcetto features a large clip that can be attached to a broad range of orchestral instruments including clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, horn, euphonium, tuba, cello, and contrabass. With an arm that can be adjusted through a wide range of 360° rotation and 180° forward/backward motion, plus a ball joint that allows fine adjustments to the viewing angle, you'll always be able to tune easily, in a natural position. Since a transpose function is also provided, you can smoothly tune your instrument whether it's in the conventional key of C, or a transposing instrument in the key of F, B-flat, or E-flat.
The Dolcetto-T features a small clip that is optimized for attachment to the bell of a trumpet, cornet, or trombone. The Dolcetto-T can be placed into the positioning that's easiest and most visible for you. As with the Dolcetto, a transpose function is provided to support the tuning of transposing instruments.
The Dolcetto-V uses a newly designed clip that firmly attaches to the peg box of a violin or viola. The tuning meter is located directly in your field of vision, allowing convenient performance with the unit attached to the instrument. In addition to the conventional chromatic mode, violin mode and viola mode are also provided. In each mode, the string number is also shown beside the note name, ensuring confident and intuitive tuning. In this case, the display will also indicate PURE 5TH, and the temperament will have pure fifths.
For even more ideal instrumental practice, the Dolcetto series provides a metronome function in addition to its tuner function. In spite of its small size, the functionality includes muting/unmuting and an adjustable time signature, so you'll have everything that you need for rhythm training. Note: The metronome cannot be used simultaneously with the tuner function.
When it comes to clip-type tuners, you expect convenience to be emphasized more than accuracy. When it comes down to tuning easily and quickly when time is limited, like when you're on stage, high accuracy and sensitivity are mandatory. Since creating the WT-10 - the world's first needle-type meter tuner - in 1975, Korg has accumulated a long history in tuner development, making it uniquely able to deliver the high accuracy and sensitivity that’s provided by the Dolcetto. From a meter that responds the instant you blow into the mouthpiece, a wide detection range that precisely captures the pitch from high to low ranges and a piezo pickup that accurately detects just your own sound within the orchestra, Korg has made no compromises what so ever.
The enhanced display, which features a new LCD meter with a high-brightness white backlight, dramatically improves visibility. The high contrast allows the meter display and text to be clearly distinguished and the wide viewing angle means that it's easy to see from any position, ensuring smooth tuning in any environment; even on a dimly lit stage.
Because a tuner is something that you use whenever you perform, durability is essential. The Dolcetto features a rugged design that will stand up to the inevitable impacts of performing and transportation. The battery replacement mechanism has also been improved for durability and smoothness.
Even though it’s an advanced tuner, the Dolcetto features a simple layout, with four buttons located on the front. This intuitive design lets you tune quicker than ever. Since it's used most frequently, the power button has a protrusion that makes it easy to distinguish.
A variety of functions are available to support your tuning endeavors: the calibration function allows a variety of concert tunings, the Auto Power-Off function saves the battery if you forget to turn the unit off, and the Memory Backup function preserves your settings even when the power is off.
