Battery power is a wonderful thing to have in a PA, but battery power you don’t have to worry running out on you is even better. That’s one of the things that impressed us the most here at City Music, when we were first checking out Samson’s Expedition XP106 portable PA system. For as powerful as it is (100 watts is nothing to scoff at), the battery in the XP106 can last up to 20 hours, making it more than a match for your typical performance or party.

Handheld dynamic microphone included

Need a mic to go with your new PA? No worries, Samson included one of their tried-and-true live dynamic microphones with the Expedition XP106. This bundled microphone offers you the consistent directionality of a cardioid pickup pattern, so as long as you don’t point it right at the XP106’s speaker, feedback shouldn’t be an issue.

4-channel mixer comes Bluetooth ready

In addition to a wired microphone, there are plenty of additional input options onboard the Expedition XP106, thanks to its 4-channel mixer. Channel 2 includes both an 1/8″ stereo input and a 1/4″ in for your guitar or keyboard, and channel 3 comes equipped with a USB in for one of Samson’s Stage XPD1 digital wireless systems (sold separately). The Expedition XP106’s Bluetooth connection has a dedicated volume control of its own, and it makes streaming music from your phone, iPad, or other device super easy. On top of that, you can daisy chain multiple Expedition PA systems together, thanks to the 1/4″ line output.
