Genelec Studio Sub for Your The Ones series Monitors
Genelec designed the W371 Adaptive Dual Woofer System to seamlessly complement The Ones series 8341, 8351 and 8361 monitors to create a full-range monitoring solution with incomparable neutrality and superior levels of control over directivity and the influence of room acoustics. A stunning revelation in low-frequency performance, the W37 features a slender vertically oriented form factor that offers enhanced placement flexibility and sophisticated onboard controls that effectively eliminate the effects of your room on LF reproduction. Loaded with dual high-performance woofers — one forward-facing and one rear-facing — the W371 subwoofer system gives you a number of ways to meticulously custom-tailor system performance to your room over the critical lowest four octaves to obtain exceptionally smooth and flat frequency response with coherent LF imaging.
Full-range monitoring without the headaches
Engineers at City Music know that to be able to record extended frequencies, you must be able to hear them, so we would sensibly recommend going as full-range with your monitoring system as space (and budget) permit. Aside from budgetary considerations, the problem with gargantuan main monitors is being able to properly position them. Genelec’s W371AP Adaptive Dual Woofer System is a perfect solution. The W371AP extends your response down to 25Hz — low enough to feel in your chest cavity the crush of a well-recorded kick drum or the fullness of a fat unison synth bass. And, in combination with a set of The Ones series monitors, its smart control set guides you in setting up your room for accurate full-range monitoring
Main monitor benefits, free-standing flexibility
Now, for the first time, you can enjoy all the benefits of a main monitor, but with the freedom to locate this flexible free-standing system optimally within your control room; and even have the option to switch between nearfield and main monitors without inducing image shift. The W371 features three operating modes that allow you choose between a flat and neutral LF response without acoustic notching, directivity of the main monitor down to the lowest frequencies, or reduction of detrimental reflections by the walls, ceiling or floor of your room. The W371 then uses Genelec’s acclaimed GLM software to select and optimize the signal processing for the best LF radiation mode, taking into account both the monitor location and listening position.
