The OM Biosphere’s stunning top makes a unique visual statement, but structurally this guitar evokes a long lineage of Martin OM classics. The OM body style is balanced and versatile with a strong waist taper for focused projection and superior fretting comfort that’s especially present when played fingerstyle. A smooth ebony fingerboard and 14th-fret neck joint yield string action perfectly balanced between tension and flexibility, which makes strummed chords resonant and full while still having the supple action needed for fleet fingerstyle work. But the real star here is the Biosphere’s mahogany neck. This neck features Martin’s modified low oval high-performance taper — a mouthful to say, but a joy to play! This tapered take on the oval neck fuels enhanced accuracy and comfort at both ends of the neck, giving you the right grip for large frets down low and smaller frets up high.
