Since their respective debuts, the Shure MV7 and MV7+ emerged as go-to microphones for content creators and podcasters here at City Music. The Shure MV7i builds on this legacy, retaining the prior mics’ functionality with one significant addition: an onboard 2-channel audio interface. With a combo XLR input, USB-C connectivity, and Apple MFi certification, the MV7i easily connects to laptops, tablets, and even to your mobile phone, allowing for quality recordings with no interface required. When taking into account the ability to connect additional microphones or instruments while also utilizing the original MV7+ arsenal of features, such as auto-leveling or LED touch control, you’re armed with a mic with the ultimate flexibility. And with Shure’s MOTIV apps for processing, mixing, effects, and more, the creative possibilities are vast.

More than a microphone

A built-in audio interface transforms the MV7i from a simple mic to a full recording device. With 2-channel capability via the hybrid XLR and USB-C ports, you can record an additional line. By swapping the XLR output for a combo XLR input, the MV7i becomes a compact recording powerhouse. This travel-friendly mic is capable of recording not only via the dynamic mic capsule, but also with an additional mic or instrument connected via the XLR. Plus, with 48V phantom power, you can even run your favorite condenser mic, making the MV7i a viable choice anywhere you record.

Customizable control in color

The MV7i carries with it the same touch-sensitive LED strip found on the popular MV7+. This intuitive feature gives you immediate access to the gain and muting functions. And within the Shure MOTIV Mix desktop app, you get controls for customizing the LEDs. In total, there are 16.8 million colors to choose from. The Live Meter Mode automatically blends between three chosen colors to keep you updated on your levels. You can choose between pulsing and solid mode, too. Finally, the brightness is adjustable to fit any environment.

Effect it all with the MOTIV apps

As with other iterations of the MV7 free access to Shure’s MOTIV Mix desktop app and MOTIV Mobile apps are included. Install MOTIV Mix on your computer to adjust gain, monitor your mix, and access several digital effects, or grab the MOTIV Mobile Recording App and do all of that and more on the go. This free mobile app offers a full digital audio workstation in the palm of your hands with five preset operating modes, file sharing via text and email, advanced audio settings, such as wind noise reduction or channel swaps, and a built-in editor to trim or split tracks.
